The exclusion brushes can be used to keep animals out: they seal openings where house sparrows or bats might enter. You can also place cavity brushes in wall cavities before insulation is installed, to prevent insulation material from entering those areas. To guide animals: in some situations, the brushes can actually be used to direct bats to a specific location, such as towards an installed bat box or a preferred roosting site within the building. Always carefully assess the local situation before installation. Depending on the roof construction, the brushes can be easily placed in the gutter or partially positioned under the roof tiles. Keep in mind that exclusion brushes may act as a deterrent for bats—at locations where bats are expected or protected, it is advisable to seek ecological advice beforehand.
