Description

  • This built-in nesting box is suitable as a compensation measure for summer or maternity roosts for bats. The nest box is ideal for facades finished with plasterwork.
  • Species such as the common pipistrelle, soprano pipistrelle, Nathusius’ pipistrelle, and the parti-coloured bat can use this facility.
  • The built-in nest box is made from 100% FSC®-certified wood concrete and meets all the requirements for the Common Pipistrelle.
  • The box can be installed individually or combined side-by-side with multiple IB VL 18 units. This configuration provides bats with more space, allowing it to also function as a maternity roost.
  • For bats, the more space they have, the better!
  • This built-in box can be installed individually or linked side-by-side with multiple IB VL 18 units. When linked, it provides bats with more space and can therefore also serve as a maternity roost.
  • It is recommended to install the built-in boxes in multiple locations on the façade, varying in height and wind direction.
    Where possible, place the boxes high on the façade. If that is not feasible, install them at a minimum height of 4 meters.
  • Do not install boxes directly above doors or windows.
    Ensure an unobstructed flight path and never place the boxes in or under artificial lighting.

Built-in bat boxes are often difficult to access. However, it is important to check the interior over time to ensure the box remains clean. Contamination can often occur due to moths and other insects. These impurities can be removed using a long, flexible brush.

Important: Always check carefully before cleaning to ensure there are no bats present in the box!
