Description
The bat box is built in combination with the entrance brick IB VL 09, or in walls where the façade cladding is chosen independently, such as in timber frame construction (TFC). In the latter case, it is necessary to create a proper connection to the entry opening of the box in the façade cladding.
The box is made of exterior-grade plywood and is finished on two inner sides with sprayed cork. The sprayed cork layer on the outside also provides extra insulation. As the box features two spacious chambers, different microclimates are created, allowing bats to always find a suitable spot.
The sloped design inside the IB VL 32 ensures that bat droppings are automatically discharged through the entrance brick, preventing accumulation inside the box.
Suitable as a summer and mating roost for:
-
Common pipistrelle
-
Nathusius’ pipistrelle
-
Soprano pipistrelle
The noctule and small maternity groups of pipistrelles may also use this box. Additionally, the nest box can be used as a winter roost. It is also possible that other bat species will make use of this built-in box.
