This artificial nest provides nesting opportunities for the barn swallow and is made of WoodStone®. WoodStone® is a mix of 100% FSC®-certified wood fibres and concrete. Recognized by:
- Hang the artificial nest in a barn, under a carport, or beneath a bridge.
- Place the nest under the ceiling, ensuring there is a small space (at least 4 cm) between the ceiling and the edge of the nest.
- Barn swallows often breed in groups with several pairs in the same location, but they maintain an appropriate distance from each other. Keep this in mind when installing.
- The best chance for the artificial nest to be inhabited is in a location with horses or livestock nearby.
The artificial nest can be cleaned once a year at the end of the season, starting in October.
