Description
This bat box consists of three compartments and is used for temporary mitigation. Installation is preferably on facades, but the box may also be suitable for installation in trees.
Several species of bats can use this bat box, depending on the local species and where the box is hung. The box is suitable as a summer and/or breeding box, and in mild winters, it can also serve as a shelter.
As a summer or breeding box, it is suitable for:
- Whiskered Bat
- Common Pipistrelle
- Brown Long-eared Bat (in loft applications)
- Soprano Pipistrelle
- Nathusius’ Pipistrelle
In mild winters, it may also be used by:
- Common Pipistrelle
The box is finished in white to minimize temperature increases when installed in sunny, warm places. The three compartments create different microclimates within the box. This bat box is also available in black (VK MP 06), which has the advantage of warming up quickly when placed in shady, cooler areas.
This box is made of waterproof bonded exterior plywood. The inside of the back wall and one side of the partition is finished with spray cork for good grip. The box comes with dowels and screws for mounting.
