Description
A large proportion of kestrels breed in nest boxes. Several models are available that all function effectively. This nest box is made of exterior plywood, and the roof is coated with bitumen.

This nest box provides nesting opportunities for the kestrel. Cave pigeons also use this nest box.
- Hang the nest box at least 4 meters high along the forest edge, in the forest, a park, or a (large) garden. This can be done in a tree, on a pole, or on a (quiet) facade or mast.
- Do not hang the nest box with the entrance opening facing southwest. Add a small amount of nesting material (dry wood chips) inside the nest box.
- Since every location and tree is different, we provide the nest box with minimal means for hanging. Additional resources needed for stable and safe installation can be assessed during installation.
This box can be cleaned after the breeding season, preferably during the winter months. Do not empty it completely; leave a layer of (old) nesting material for the next breeding season.
