This built-in nesting box is suitable as compensation for swifts’ nest sites in facades and is used in new construction. The height of this built-in brick fits perfectly into a 3-layer wall format. The box can be installed with the entrance opening either on the left or right. House sparrows also like to use this built-in nest box, which benefits the discovery of the nest box by swifts. If a swift wants to take over the nest box from a house sparrow, the sparrows will be evicted without mercy. The built-in nest box is made of WoodStone® with a waterproof, glued Plywood back wall. WoodStone® is a mix of 100% FSC®-certified wood fibres and concrete. This robust material is environmentally sustainable and will last for decades.

This built-in brick provides nesting opportunities for swifts and is suitable for new construction projects. With its 15 cm deep internal base, it offers swifts optimal nesting space.
Recognized by:
- Install the built-in nest box with the front side flush with the facade horizontally, and preferably install several together with a minimum distance of 50 cm horizontally and vertically.
- Place built-in bricks high up where possible, preferably under the eaves. If that is not feasible, install them at least 4 meters high on the facade.
- Avoid installing boxes directly above doors or windows.
- Facades facing north and east are preferred. Other wind directions are also possible (for example, directly under the roof overhang). Avoid installing the boxes where there is full sun all day and on southwest facades due to the risk of rain intrusion.
- Do not add nesting material.
This built-in nest box does not require cleaning. Swifts will remove excess nesting material themselves (for example, if a house sparrow has occupied it).
