IB VL 34 Bat Built-in Box

Description

This IB VL 34 bat built-in box is used in combination with the IB VL 33 bat Built-in box for new construction or renovation projects. Before installation, the small wood-concrete blocks on the sides are removed. These blocks can easily be chipped out. The built-in boxes can be connected on either the left or right side. Multiple IB VL 34 built-in boxes can also be placed next to each other in the wall, creating a large bat roost within the cavity wall.

Suitable as a summer roost, mating roost, and maternity roost (with a minimum of 3 connected boxes) for:

Common pipistrelle
Nathusius’ pipistrelle
Soprano pipistrelle
Serotine bat
Parti-coloured bat

For bats, the more space available, the better!

The IB VL 34 Bat Built-in box can be installed on any orientation (north, east, south, or west).
Install the box as high as possible on the facade — the bottom edge should be at least 3 meters above ground level.
Keep the flight path to the box clear: do not allow trees or shrubs to grow in front of the wall, and avoid installing sunshades or similar obstructions above the box.
Do not install the box directly above doors, windows, or balconies due to bat droppings.
The installation site should remain unlit: do not install lighting near or directly on the box.
When using multiple boxes at one location (in combination with the IB VL 33 bat built-in box), they can function as summer roosts, mating roosts, and potentially small maternity roosts.
It is up to the user to determine the best method of connecting the boxes. Various options are possible, such as connecting the boxes with coupling plates and screws, using cavity wall anchors, or gluing them together.
Mounting materials are not included.

No maintenance is possible for this built-in box, as it is not accessible.
