This nest provides nesting opportunities for the house martin. The nest bowl is made of the sustainable material WoodStone®, a mixture of FSC®-certified wood fibres and concrete.
Recognized by:
- Place the house martin double nest bowl on the facade of a house or barn, directly under the gutter or overhang.
- We recommend hanging nest bowls on the east or northeast side of the building. It is also preferable to hang several of the nest bowls together to encourage colony formation.
- No nesting material needs to be added.
- The nest bowls come with hardware for mounting.
- Tip: Create a mud puddle within 200 meters of the nesting site so house martins can build additional nests on their own.
The nest bowl can be cleaned once a year at the end of the season (starting in October). Remove the nest bowl from the wall and clean the bowl throughly through the opening in the back.
