This nesting basket is used by mallards and park ducks as a nesting site, but the moorhen is also a potential user. There are even successful breeding cases of smew in duck boxes placed in pollarded willows. The NK EE 02 is a slightly longer basket, allowing the nest to be a bit deeper, which provides better protection from predators.

This duck basket provides nesting opportunities for mallards, but park ducks and moorhens also use it.
Recognized by:
- Duck decoys can be placed either on the bank or in a pond (or large body of water).
- Place the basket on cross-hatched sticks at both the front and back.
- The basket should remain about 20 cm above the surface of the water.
- Point the opening of the basket toward the open water.
- Secure the basket with pull straps or cable ties.
- No nesting material needs to be added.
Maintenance is not required. These baskets are woven from willow twigs, a natural material with a lifespan of only a few years.
