This nest basket provides nesting habitat for buzzards. Additionally, honey buzzards and hawks also use this nest basket. This buzzard basket is a tested and approved means of compensation measures, especially when natural nests are lost due to tree removal. It is important to place the basket in an appropriate location and install it correctly.

Determine a suitable location for the nest basket and find an appropriate tree.
Place the basket close to the trunk on one or more horizontal branches.
Install the basket at a minimum height of 6 feet.
Ensure there is a clear approach route.
Secure the basket with drawstrings or wire.
Fill the basket with wood chips, possibly mixed with forest soil or peat.

After the breeding season, during the winter months, you can check some nesting material to see if it needs replenishing. Most of the time, this is not necessary.
