Description
This bat box consists of two compartments and is used for temporary mitigation. Installation is preferably on facades, but the box may also be suitable for installation in trees.
Several species of bats can use this bat box, depending on the local species and where it is hung. The box is suitable as a summer and/or breeding box, and in mild winters, it can also serve as a shelter.
As a summer or breeding box, it is suitable for:
- Whiskered Bat
- Common Pipistrelle
- Brown Long-eared Bat (in loft applications)
- Soprano Pipistrelle
- Nathusius’ Pipistrelle
In mild winters, it may also be used by:
- Common Pipistrelle
The box is finished in white to reduce the likelihood of overheating when installed in sunny, warm places. This bat box is also available in black (VK MP 05). The black finish allows the temperature inside the box to warm up quickly when placed in shady, cooler areas.
This box is made of waterproof bonded exterior plywood. The inside of the back wall and one side of the partition are finished with spray cork for good grip. The box comes with dowels and screws for mounting.
