Description
This proven model of a maternity bat box has been upgraded with an extra layer of insulation. The box consists of three chambers, with the middle chamber insulated using hemp fibers. This creates even more microclimates within the same box. The internal spaces are accessible to the bats.
This large maternity box is suitable for mounting on brick walls and other rough façades. Bats can enter the box in two ways: via the wall, as the back panel is spaced 2 cm from the surface, and through the openings at the bottom. The open bottom also makes the box easy to inspect. The three compartments, with 19 mm spacing in between, are interconnected through holes in the dividing walls.
This box is suitable as a maternity roost, but can also serve as a summer or mating roost. During mild winters, it can even act as a shelter.
Suitable as maternity/summer/mating roost for:

Whiskered bat

The box is made from weatherproof, exterior-grade bonded plywood. The interior of the back wall and one side of the dividing wall are coated with spray cork for optimal grip. The exterior is also finished with spray cork for added protection and insulation. The box is supplied with appropriate mounting hardware for easy installation.
