This includes managing natural areas, protecting plants and animals and encouraging conservation. BIJ12 provides knowledge and coordination for projects and initiatives aimed at conserving nature in the Netherlands. The name BIJ12 comes from the 12 provinces in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

BIJ12 is committed to animal mitigation and conservation. They advise on measures to reduce the negative impacts of human activities on animals and to conserve and protect biodiversity. This may include reducing disturbance to nests, preserving habitat and taking measures to protect animals from negative impacts, such as prohibiting the killing or trapping of sensitive species.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces” el_class=”inner-page column-reverse”][vc_column width=”1\/2″ el_class=”text-block-inner”][vc_custom_heading text=”Why is BIJ12 important?” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Slopen of bouwen en het kappen van bomen kan schadelijk zijn voor diersoorten die wettelijk beschermd zijn volgens de Omgevingswet. Om schade aan de natuur te voorkomen of te verminderen, moeten passende maatregelen worden genomen.<\/p>\n

Ook als een gebouweigenaar werkzaamheden wil uitvoeren waar beschermde diersoorten aanwezig zijn, moet hier een ontheffing voor aangevraagd worden bij de betreffende provincie. Een ontheffing wordt alleen verleend als er voldoende mitigerende en compenserende maatregelen worden genomen. For example, nesting and residence facilities for bats, swifts, house sparrows and insects can be installed. Both permanent and long-term facilities are available for this purpose. These products must meet strict conditions.<\/p>\n
