Place the nest box at a height of 2 meters in a preferably thicker tree in woods, tree lines, parks, or gardens. Treecreepers need only a few thicker trees to establish a territory. In some cases, treecreepers may be attracted if the box is placed on a facade, but there must be trees nearby.
The nest box is equipped with a lid for checking and removing the old nest if necessary.
Treecreepers do not put much effort into building their nests, so cleaning is rarely needed. However, the nest box is sometimes used by blue tits. In such cases, it is wise to remove the nest after the breeding season. Always ensure a layer of sawdust remains.
