Note: This box is always used in combination with the entrance brick IB VL 09, which is bricked into the exterior wall. The chamfered design inside the IB VL 10 ensures that bat droppings are automatically discharged through the entrance stone, preventing a build-up of dung in the box. The applied layer of spray cork on the outside of the box provides additional insulation.Suitable as a maternity and winter habitat for:

  • Common Pipistrelle
  • Nathusius’ Pipistrelle
  • Soprano Pipistrelle

 

  • Preferably, install this large box in multiple locations on the facade. Vary both altitude and wind direction.
  • Install boxes in the facade at a minimum height of 4 meters.
  • When renovating or post-insulating, first saw or cut open the existing facade to fit the box. After the entrance brick IB VL 09 has been bricked in, the built-in brick can be installed. The entrance hole of the box should be aligned with the edge on the inside of the entrance brick IB VL 09 to ensure a perfect fit.
  • The box can be secured using cavity anchors (not supplied), for example.
  • Avoid installing boxes directly above doors or windows.
  • Ensure a clear entry and exit route, and never place boxes in or near artificial light.

This bat box cannot be cleaned. The slanted interior allows feces to easily roll out of the box through the entrance stone.
