This built-in brick can be used in both renovation and new construction. The slotted front of this built-in brick fits perfectly into 1-layer waal format. Built-in bricks can be installed singly or with several IB VL 08 bricks connected laterally, but can also be connected in the cavity both horizontally and vertically with the IB VL 07. Species such as the Common Dwarf Bat, Small Dwarf Bat, Soprano Pipistrelle and Particoloured Bat can use this facility. Because the cabinet section is incorporated behind the outer leaf, the bats are better protected from extreme high or low temperatures. The built-in nest box is made of WoodStone® with a waterproof glued Plywood back wall. This backboard is coated on the inside with spray cork for better grip. WoodStone® is a mix of 100% FSC®-certified wood fibres and concrete. This robust material is environmentally sustainable and will last for decades.

This built-in brick is ideal for bats as a summer habitat, mating habitat, and, in mild winters, as winter accommodation. The species that use the built-in brick will vary depending on the area where it is installed and the species already present.

- Built-in bricks can be installed singly or with several IB VL 08 bricks connected laterally. They can also be connected in the cavity both horizontally and vertically with the IB VL 07, providing the bats with more zones of different temperatures.
- The thickened part above the trench should be concealed with stone strips, leaving only the entrance hole visible in the wall.
- It is preferable to install built-in bricks in the facade at several locations, varying both altitude and wind direction.
- Where possible, built-in bricks should be installed high in the facade, at least 4 meters above the ground.
- Avoid installing boxes directly above doors or windows.
- Ensure a clear entry and exit route, and never place the bricks in or near artificial light.
This built-in nest box does not require cleaning. The sloped bottom of the box allows feces to easily roll out of the stone.
